Human Factors & Safety Culture at Delta Air Lines

In the Corporate Safety office at Delta Air Lines, I conducted in-depth interviews and desk research to better understand the landscape of safety management practices across the Delta operation. After synthesizing my findings through system mapping, I'm now creating a workshop series to bring human-centered design and design thinking processes into safety risk mitigation efforts to help increase the effectiveness of safety programs within three major divisions (TechOps, In-Flight and Airport Customer Service).

I have also supported grassroots safety initiatives across multiple airport stations in the Delta network. Delta has teamed up with the Culture Change Consultants to collect important data on perceptions of safety within the operation from frontline employees to leadership. This perception data is then used in interactive workshops to help frontline employees and leadership reach common ground and move toward a safer operation together.
