Alert Fatigue in Electronic Medical Records

The Georgia Tech Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Student Chapter partnered with informaticists from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to assess the hospital's electronic medical record (EMR) alerting system. As a result of interviews and loosely structured cognitive walkthroughs, the student chapter implemented a testbed in Qualtrics to further explore which factors affect alert fatigue in digital systems.
